Action
Figure 8 was formed during the summer of 2001 when Barb Morrison
and Doug Steinberg, formerly of Itchy Trigger Finger teamed up with
bassist Rob Kim. The
NYC based trio runs the gamut from power pop to classic 70s rock.
Barb
and Doug played together in well known NYC band Itchy Trigger Finger
for five years. After a number of personnel and sound changes, they
decided to form a new band and start from the beginning. Enter Rob
Kim.
Rob
Kim has played with numerous NYC outfits such as Gravy, before teaming
up with AF8. His melodic basslines hold the music together.
While
in Itchy Trigger Finger, Barb & Doug performed live with Ben
Folds Five, Hole, Sonic Youth, Sinead O'Conner, Elastica, Coolio,
Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Cypress Hill, and have toured with the
Lollapalooza festival.
Barb
recently scored the soundtrack to The Safety of Objects starring
Glenn Close and Joshua Jackson, which also features several Itchy
Trigger Finger songs. Doug has been spotted producing and recording
New York City's finest bands, such as
The Wobblies, Bullet and members of The Lunachicks.
